The intention is to introduce a “Wildlife Community Plot” on part of the CYD allotment site. The area to be used will be on the strip of land linking the main track and the site boundary between to notice board near the entrance gate and the tool shed near the polytunnel.

The AIMS will be

• to provide an area for communal enjoyment.
• to encourage the growth of food plants for birds and insects.
• to respect the wild habitat and the interdependency of all living things
• to promote plant species of particular herbal benefit.
• to introduce forage plants for wild food cultivation.

Our PLANS for the area include

• the erection of a suitable boundary fence.
• the making of habitat sites for hedgehogs and other garden friendly creatures.
• the provision of nest boxes.
• the construction of hard structures, such as walkways, meeting places and resting areas.
• making the area user-friendly for all abilities.
